SIMON Gibson was in tremendous form for St Martins in their 6-4 Worcester Table Tennis League Division Three triumph over YMCA Elizabethans, convincingly winning his three singles matches in straight sets.
Tony Harding and Peter Kasch each added a singles win, but the latter had to concede his third game due to injury.
For the Elizabethans, Brian Ovington and Dean Lewis both beat Harding, while Lewis also accounted for Kasch. A win in the doubles for Harding and Gibson over Lewis and Ovington ensured the win for the Saints.
Top-of-the-table St George's Dragons completed their third 7-3 win against Nemesis in as many matches, but on this occasion there were some unexpected individual results.
The Dragons number two Steve Mills, unbeaten in the previous encounters between the two teams, lost 13-11 in the deciding set to Bill Smith and was also beaten by Richard Cullis. His son Samuel recorded good wins against both these players, although he was well beaten by Don James. Geoff Woodward won three singles and, together with Steve Mills, was also successful in the doubles.
YMCA Elizabethans were beaten 7-3 in their match against WGCC. They were indebted for the point gained from this result to Lewis and David Bradley.

In a second match, WGCC beat YMCA Wildcats 8-2 with David Stevens and Mullen both undefeated in singles and doubles for the Golf Club. The two wins for the Wildcats were achieved by Piotr and Damil Chmurzynski.
