WORCESTERSHIRE'S attack toiled on a flat pitch at Taunton on the first day of their warm-up game against Somerset.
The home side piled up a massive 548-4 in 99 overs, with paceman Richard Jones, who claimed 2-92 from 16 overs, the pick of the visitors' bowlers.
County chief executive Mark Newton said: "Richard picked up a wicket in the first over of both his opening and second spells.
"He was out for most of last season with stress fractures in his back, so to spend a day in the field marks real progress for him towards regaining full fitness."
For Somerset, Neil Edwards retired on 136, while John Francis made 133. Ian Hildreth ended the day on 124 not out and Keith Parsons was 94no.
Meanwhile, Worcestershire host Glamorgan in another warm-up game on Easter Monday. Admission to the one-day match is free and play gets under way at 11am.
