HEREFORD United can have a big say in the League Two title race this weekend.
The Bulls' interest at the business end of the table may be long over, but they can still affect what happens at the top.
Graham Turner's charges host third-placed Swindon Town at Edgar Street on Saturday before visiting Walsall, currently second, on Bank Holiday Monday.
United sit 16th in the standings but go into the match with confidence after reaching the 50-point mark for the season with a 0-0 draw against Milton Keynes Dons last Saturday.
That match, goalkeeper Wayne Brown's first clean sheet in six matches, also brought an end to a run of four matches without a point, their worst spell since the 1998/99 season.
Hereford first-team coach John Trewick said: "As far as we are concerned, they are two terrific matches against Swindon and Walsall.
"We have done well against teams higher than us. We did well against MK Dons, got a point and we will be hoping to do the same again."
Hereford also have the edge over Paul Sturrock's Swindon side after winning 2-1 at the County Ground in November courtesy of two Andy Williams goals.
Midfielder Steve Jennings is set to give the Bulls a boost by being declared fit in time for the double-header.
Jennings, on loan from Tranmere until the end of the season, has been on the sidelines for several weeks with medial ligament damage but came through a full training session today.
They will also be able to call on Steve Guinan after the striker agreed to extend his loan stay from League One side Cheltenham Town for a further three weeks.
Guinan will now return to Whaddon Road following Hereford's match at Peterborough United on April 21, ruling him out of the last two games of the season against Shrewsbury Town and Torquay United.
Long-term casualty Martyn Giles continues to receive treatment on his back injury, while Andy Ferrell, on loan at Kidderminster Harriers, will see a specialist on Tuesday about a groin problem.
Saturday's match against Swindon looks likely to attract one of the largest crowds of the season to Edgar Street.
The demand for tickets from away fans is such that Hereford are giving over the entire Blackfriars End to travelling support.
n Former Hereford player Tom Smith will captain Truro City at Wembley for the FA Vase final on May 13. Smith played 24 times for the Bulls.
