PAUL Molloy has challenged his Malvern Town side to end the season on a high.

The Langland Stadium outfit are 14 points clear of the Southern League Division One Midlands relegation zone with five games left, virtually assuring them of safety.

Now manager Molloy has his sights set on securing a mid-table finish, starting with Saturday's home match against play-off chasing Willenhall Town (3pm).

He said: "We were disappointed to lose at their place, falling 1-0 five minutes into injury-time, so we would like to get a bit of revenge for that.

"I don't think anything will change now. We just want to finish as high as we can and hopefully in the middle of the table. It has been a very good season."

Malvern's inaugural season following promotion from the Midland Alliance has certainly been a squad effort with no less than 63 players having been registered by the club.

Molloy has had to chop and change, drafting in extra recruits ahead of last month's transfer deadline.

As a result, Malvern had 23 players available for last Saturday's 4-2 home victory against Bishops Cleeve, described by Molloy as one of the best performances of the season.

The boss added: "We have had to rely on the reserves and youth team a lot and they have done us proud. We have had a turn-around of players. We signed loads to make sure we had got cover from the transfer deadline. We can't slip up between now and the end of the season."

Left-back Nick Clayton serves the last of a three-match ban against Willenhall but Wes Joyce still has three more games to sit out following Saturday's match.

Midfielder Paul Edwards (toe) is fit to play.
