I HAVE been Worcester City player-manager for just over two years now and this is as good a position as the club has been in, in terms of going for promotion.
Things are going forward and I still feel our destiny is in our own hands. There's everything to play for.
However, I think it's been a mediocre February for the team with eight points from six games. It's not been as good as I would have liked.
I thought we deserved to beat Lancaster on Monday night. Given their position, it was a no-win situation as everyone expected us to run away with the game, so I was happy with the three points.
I was pleased because we have not been playing well in recent weeks but we should have played with more freedom in the second-half and gone on to get five or six goals.
We should have got three points at Scarborough at the start of the month and should have beaten Vauxhall Motors 48 hours later.
But we didn't deserve anything against Stalybridge Celtic or Leigh RMI.
I still don't think we got the points we deserved because we should have had 10 points from the month with the way we played.
If it had been a really good month I think we could have been up there on 50 or maybe 51 points and on the verge of the play-offs.
But we have had a mediocre month which has put us within sight of the play-offs, but not in them. If we'd had a really bad few weeks, we would have been out of the running.
I think we have ended up two points short from our performances this month but we are still in the pack and we have taken six points from the last nine.
It's important to remain positive and our position - five points off second place - is a good one to be in going into the last 11 games of the season.
It's frustrating because the position could have been better but we just have to perform week-in, week-out and the results will take care of themselves.
Our consistency level has dropped a bit and I am sure we will pick that up for the run-in.
We haven't performed consistently well of late. We had a great spell up to the Welling FA Trophy game, but since then we haven't been playing as well.
Following Monday's victory, we have now got three players - Mark Danks, Craig Wilding and George Clegg - in double figures for goals.
Also, Adam Webster has got more games under his belt and Chris Cornes is losing weight and looking better, so there's lots of positives to look forward to.
Visits to Droylsden and Hinckley on Saturday and Monday will be difficult, but we play well against better sides because we know we have to. If we don't they are capable of embarrassing us but hopefully we will produce those performances.
