HEREFORD United can take a big step closer to the League Two play-off zone by picking up all three points from tomorrow night's trip to Chester City (7.45).
Ninth-placed Bulls are just three points and four places above Chester, but victory at the Deva Stadium would see them move to within three points of Wycombe Wanderers, who currently occupy seventh place - the final play-off berth.
The Bulls have managed to win three and draw two of their last six league outings to garner 11 points - but manager Graham Turner will be taking nothing for granted against former England defender Mark Wright's men.
The Hereford chief said: "It will be a massive game for us.
"We are in the middle of a good run of form and we have to keep that up if we are going to get into the play-offs.
"Chester are a big, stong side who will give us a real battle, but I am confident we can go up there and get a positive result.
"We had them watched last Wednesday when they beat Bury 1-0 with a last-minute goal and they are battlers who can grind out a result.
"They are a physical side, but they are well-organised too."
Turner faces a defensive re-shuffle, though, for the trip to Cheshire as two of his full-backs are unavailable for tonight's contest.
Trent McClenahan will miss the match as he is in Iran to represent Australia under-23s, while fellow defender Simon Travis has a heel complaint.
Travis was expected to recover in time to face Chester, but the injury has become infected and he will be side-lined for a little longer.
Rob Purdie has been suffering from a slight shoulder injury and he sat out today's training session, but Turner is confident the midfielder will be fit to play.
The versatile player, who played left-back in Saturday's 0-0 draw at home to Rochdale, looks set to continue in the Hereford rearguard with McClenahan and Travis unavailable.
Long-term back injury victim Martyn Giles remains out of contention.
