BROMSGROVE Rovers maintained their stranglehold on second spot in Southern League Division One Midlands with a 3-1 win at Dunstable Town.
Kick-off was delayed by 15 minutes as several tons of sand were spread over the sodden pitch.
The play-off chasing hosts gave Rovers an early scare when Christopher Marsh crashed a shot against the crossbar in the fifth minute.
Adapting better to the conditions, Dunstable opened the scoring in the 29th minute when Stuart Deacon headed in from a corner.
Their lead only lasted five minutes, though, as Chris McHale tapped in from a Kevin Banner corner.
Banner was invovled in Rovers' second goal too, picking out Neil Davis with a cross and the striker laid-off to Nathan Lamey, who drilled the ball into the top corner.
Rovers wrapped up victory four minutes later when McHale again converted - this time with his head - from a Banner flag-kick.
Elsewhere in the division, third-from-bottom Stourport Swifts were thrashed 4-0 at home by Sutton Coldfield.
Craig Marshall, former Swifts defender Lee Knight and Justin Rowe did the damage.
n Malvern Town's home game with Barton Rovers was postponed.
