ALTHOUGH there is plenty of this season remaining, I think you always have to be looking towards the next.
As soon as you start the season and, as you go along, you are looking at each players' performances.
You need to see whether you feel they can take Worcester City forward in this league and whether they are good enough to take the club forward in the Conference.
Our players have definitely shown they are good enough to play at a higher level but it's about doing it consistently.
By the end of the season you know the players that have played consistently well week in week out. But the key is doing it in all games, not just the big ones against the likes of Burton Albion.
It's a matter of being consistent throughout the season and maintaining that level.
We have had a number of players who have done that for us during the current campaign but we are still looking to strengthen the team whether we go up or whether we stay in this division.
If the team stayed down and were moved into Nationwide South next year in a reshuffle that would bring about its own problems.
With most of our players living in the north in places like Derby, Sheffield, Stafford and Manchester, it could create a few problems.
Kettering Town could end up going north or south in such a reshuffle, depending on who comes down, but if they get promoted to the Conference we would probably be the next team for consideration given our location.
It would be tougher for us if we had to go south because there seems to be a lot more finance in that league. But it is really out of our hands and the only way we can do anything about it is to make sure we do get promoted.
However, it's going to be tough. Winning the league is out of the question but we have got to make a good challenge for the play-offs. As it stands at the minute, it's touch and go.
I don't think any of us really want to be in the south division and we will be doing our damndest to make sure we are not.
We are not too far off the play-offs so we have just got to keep going and be positive.
I am concentrating on the positives and not trying to think about any possible reshuffle. I still think we are capable of doing really well this season.
Midfielder Shaun Findlay deserved his opportunity against Stalybridge, as did defender Danny Hodnett, and he was taking it before he came off with concussion.
There was no change to the system at the weekend as Graham Ward, who moved into midfield, has played hundreds of times in that position, including at Tamworth.
