WINNING the British Basketball League Trophy was the culmination of four years hard work at Worcester Wolves.
Now, having returned from Glasgow with the silverware, the trick in future years will be to build on the success we have now.
I remember when I first sat down with the owners, Roger Clarke and Mick Donovan, and spoke about the five-year plan, how we were going to get there and win things.
I might be a year ahead of myself but winning something like the Trophy is what I wanted to do and said we would do if we could put things in place and build the foundations.
We've done that and now we're a strong team that can go and compete with anybody else in the country. I wanted to move the team forward year on year and I feel like that's happened.
I've done it with two clubs before so I know what it takes to win leagues, how to build a team and the consistency you need to have year on year.
I have done that with Thames Valley Tigers and Guildford Heat and there was no reason why I couldn't do it here with Worcester Wolves.
Now I've done that but I had no doubt in my mind that I could bring some sort of silverware here.
After arriving at the club, it took some time just to find out what was doable with the study and play programme we have with the University of Worcester, mixing professionals with student athletes. The first couple of years I found that difficult to deal with but I've got to grips with that now.
Every year we've been stronger than we were the previous year and now we need to start looking towards next season.
Where do we need to go to be stronger is one question I will be asking myself and that's something that will start to play on my mind in the coming weeks.
Returning to our Trophy triumph and, at last, I think it's starting to sink in. For a while I was speechless and didn't know what I thought about it but when I look at it in the cold light of day it's a phenomenal achievement.
I was amazed that our 200 fans could silence the Scottish crowd and it was emotional to see how many people had made the effort to travel up there by coach, train and car.
I can't say enough about the support and when we needed them they really got behind the team in the last few minutes of the game.
Just the fact that they'd made that effort to go there spurred us on to make sure that they went back happy. I thank them for making that effort.
