DIRECTOR of basketball Paul James believes Worcester Wolves should be hungry for more success following their British Basketball League Trophy triumph.

Wolves won their first piece of silverware since joining the elite league eight years ago by beating Glasgow Rocks 83-76 at the Commonwealth Arena last Sunday.

But, with two more competitions still up for grabs in the league and play-offs, James wants his side to keep their focus.

While admitting that the Trophy success has eased the weight of expectation, he reckons his team have more to give.

"We've done what we wanted to achieve, which is great, but there's still much more that can be accomplished and we're going to refocus and see what we can do in the league and the play-offs," he said.

"To have reached this milestone now, we can really move on as a club. There are still seven games to come in the league and we still have an outside chance of winning it if other teams slip up so we want to be right there if they do. There's the play-offs as well so there's plenty to play for.

"The pressure is off a little bit, I think we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to make sure that we won something this year.

"I'm relieved that we've done it, it's a weight off my shoulders and now hopefully we can move on and finish the season strongly."

James added: "For this season to be successful it wasn't going to be good enough to say we'd had another good year and improved a little bit.

"With the team we had on the floor, I felt it was a winning team. To have finally gone the whole way and won something, regardless of what happens from now on in, we've had an exceptional season.

"This was the year to win something so had we gone through the season and not won anything it would have been the same as the year before."

Meanwhile, two of Worcester's Trophy heroes, Jamal Williams and Will Creekmore, have been included in the latest BBL team of the week.

Williams described his 26-point display, which earned him the Most Valuable Player accolade, as the best of his professional career.

The forward, making his debut in the elite quintet this term, scored seven from nine inside the arc and also sank three triples, while also coming up with three rebounds and three blocked shots.

Creekmore, now the outright leader in the race for the most team of the week appearances with 13 selections, recorded another double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds.

The duo are joined in the five by Stefan Gill (Manchester Giants), Malik Cooke (Newcastle Eagles) and Drew Sullivan (Leicester Riders).
