FEW days in the history of Worcester sport can rival super Sunday.
For those that missed it, Worcester Wolves won the British Basketball League Trophy final with an 83-76 victory over Glasgow Rocks in the Scottish capital.
It was their first success since joining the elite league eight years ago and has truly marked them out as one of the best sides in the UK.
At the same time, not too far away, Worcester Warriors picked up a potentially season-saving victory at Newcastle Falcons, 17-12.
It was their first Aviva Premiership win since March 1 last year and could just be the start of something amazing at Sixways.
If Dean Ryan's men go on to pull off the greatest of escapes, and it's a massive if, the Kingston Park success will have been the catalyst.
To have two of the city's leading sports teams triumph in such circumstances on the same day is remarkable.
Worcester has had few things to shout about on the sporting front in recent years but now they do.
Certainly when it comes to the Wolves. The team has been on a gradual incline towards success since Paul James took over as director of basketball just over four years ago.
Their move to the University Arena only served to enhance their potential and now they have delivered.
All the work the club has done over the past eight years in the BBL, and the six before that in the English League, had been building towards Sunday's triumph.
That they did it barely 48 hours after losing to Sheffield Sharks in a crucial Championship match proves that Wolves are the real deal.
Had they finished the season with nothing, it would have been a major disappointment for a team that promised so much.
Now they have that elusive silverware in the bag, Wolves' psychological approach is very different. They are proven winners.
When it comes to matters of the mind, Warriors are also now in a much better place, to coin a favourite phrase of director of rugby Ryan.
While the odds are still hugely stacked against them in the battle to avoid relegation, they have given themselves a fighting chance.
Who knows what the Newcastle win will lead to?
Sunday was a momentous occasion for Worcester sport. Perhaps, also, it was just the beginning of more to come.
