ASSISTANT manager Matt Gardiner felt it was a case of two points dropped for Worcester City against Histon.

City had chances to have been ahead before Harry O’Malley’s 70th-minute header and it needed Ethan Moore’s injury-time penalty to snatch a draw.

Gardiner said: “I think we were definitely value for the draw, but we probably should have won it.

“We had several chances in the first-half to be at least three or four-nil up and we weren’t composed or clinical enough in front of goal.

“Even in the second-half, we got the ball in and around their box, but it was just the final ball or the keeper made a great save.

“Their keeper pulled off some good saves, but I would say our finishing could have been better as well. I thought we dominated, but just weren’t clinical enough.”

But, despite those criticisms, Gardiner was full of praise for Moore’s equaliser.

“It was never in doubt with Ethan from the spot in that situation, that’s what he does,” Carl Heeley’s deputy said.”He’s composed and his overall contribution when he came on was brilliant.”

Stutes boss Brian Page felt his side were hard done-to by referee Rob Ellis with the red card and penalty decision, but Gardiner disagreed.

He said: “I can understand anyone not being happy when you’re 1-0 up in injury-time but it was a penalty. Graham Hutchison nutmegged their player and he brought him down.”
