KIDDERMINSTER Harriers manager Gary Whild reckons failing to add to his squad for the Skrill Premier play-off push might not be a bad thing.
Whild and coaches Tim Flowers and Mark Creighton had been hoping to add at least one new face to the squad before Thursday's registration deadline.
Harriers are chasing a top-five finish and are just two points adrift in ninth going into today's match at Salisbury City (3pm), one of just eight remaining this season.
But Whild has always insisted that any new blood would have to better than that already at Aggborough and he believes being unable to do so is testament to the players he currently has at his disposal.
“It’s been a little bit frustrating because we did want to bring one or two in to try and help the lads who are here,” the Kidderminster manager said.
“But I suppose it speaks volumes for the ones who are here that we haven’t been able to get somebody in who is going to be better than what we’ve got – I’ve always touched on that because that’s important.
“That player has been hard to find and we haven’t been able to do anything.
“You don’t want to insult the lads who are in the dressing room and somebody coming in would have to make a difference.
“At the moment, while we were able to identify one or two of those, they’re hard to get and we weren't able to nail it down.”
Meanwhile, the club’s early bird season tickets for the 2014-15 campaign will go on sale from next Tuesday.
Purchases can be made from the Aggborough ticket office or over the phone on 01562-823931. They will be available until Thursday, May 1.
Harriers have also agreed a new, three-year sponsorship deal of Aggborough's East Stand with Hire-It!
