OWNER Roger Clarke says a Worcester Wolves triumph in the British Basketball League Trophy final would be dedicated to the club's loyal fans.
Wolves, who were founded 14 years ago by Clarke and Mick Donovan, face Glasgow Rocks at the Commonwealth Arena in the Scottish capital tomorrow (3.15pm) in their first final since joining the BBL in 2006.
Excitement has been building since the semi-final success against Sheffield Sharks earlier this month and around 6,000 fans are expected to be packed into the venue for the match.
Clarke said: "There is a fantastic buzz around the whole club and I really hope that the fans who have been so loyal since our formation have a great day out in Glasgow or watching the game on TV at home.
"If we can bring the Trophy back to Worcester, we will dedicate it to the people who have played a part in our journey so far.
"Hopefully, this will be the first of many finals and big days for the Wolves."
Club president Donovan added: “Tomorrow is huge. We’ve worked towards this for so many years. As well as lots of people going up on coaches, there are also people taking the train, driving up or even flying there.
"It would be nice to bring some silverware back to the city of Worcester."
Although the Wolves fans will be greatly outnumbered in Glasgow, director of basketball Paul James believes they will play their part.
He said: “There will be 6,000 fans in there and most will be rooting for the Rocks. We are going to have about 200 fans going up and I am sure they will make as much noise as they can so it's exciting.
"Glasgow aren't going to win the league so they will see this as their chance to win something. But we are in the same boat because we haven't won anything yet."
