WORCESTER City are preparing to embark on what manager Carl Heeley has described as a "pivotal week" for the club.
Tomorrow's match against Vauxhall Motors at Aggborough (3pm) is the first of three home games in six days for the Blue and Whites.
Following the visit of the Motormen, which is being played on a Sunday because landlords Kidderminster Harriers host Southport today, City face Stockport County on Tuesday and Histon next Saturday.
With that trio all in the bottom half of the table, along with 17th-placed Worcester, the fixtures will go a long way in determining where City finish.
Manager Heeley, whose side are eight points clear of the bottom three, said: "We are going into a pivotal week. After these three games we will have a very good idea or a better picture of our destiny. If we can have a positive outcome I think we can get rid of any fears of getting sucked back into a relegation scrap.
"If we can get a decent points haul we should be safe."
Vauxhall Motors are one point better off than Worcester but have endured a turbulent time since the Ellesmere Port club's announced they would be resigning from Skrill North at the end of the season.
That has seen manager Carl Macauley leave to become assistant to former Harriers boss Steve Burr at Chester.
But the club, who were 1-0 winners when City visited Rivacre Park in January, have not thrown the towel in and, before last Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Stalybridge Celtic, won 1-0 at Leamington.
Heeley added: "We went to watch them at Leamington and I was very impressed. I thought they passed the ball really well and they are playing with no fear.
"They are determined to finish the campaign strongly and they are a dangerous team."
Keeper Ryan Boot could return to the team tomorrow after missing the 2-1 defeat at leaders North Ferriby United with a knee injury but Birmingham City's Callum Preston is available.
Jose Veiga is also back in training following his knee injury and could be in contention with the next week or so.
Midfielder Aaron Brown and striker Aaron Farrell should also be back in the mix having been absent at North Ferriby because of a family bereavement.
But centre-half Richard Munday is unlikely to play again this season as his broken hand is still in plaster.
