HEREFORD United's players have been told their contracts will be honoured by the cash-strapped club.
A season of financial struggle for the Bulls has continued with the Skrill Premier outfit unable to pay February's wages in full.
It is a scenario that has become painfully familiar at Edgar Street in recent months and, with low attendances, there is little sign of the situation improving.
But, following a meeting between the club's hierarchy and players, chairman David Keyte has issued an assurance of payment in the long run.
He also said their was a commitment from the players to give their all until the end of the season despite their plight.
The Hereford chief, whose side visit Braintree today (3pm), said: “The players will be paid what they are due under the terms of their contract although, in the current financial circumstances, I cannot promise them that they will be paid on the button.
“We have asked anyone who is facing difficulties to come and talk to us, but we do have two home games in March and we will hope to get some decent crowds which should help us start to catch up.
“Nobody is happy about the current financial situation and it certainly is not an easy message to deliver or receive when talking about personal finance."
He added: “It is time for all of us to roll our sleeves up and work together. We had a meeting with the players last week and they confirmed that they are up for the battle and will be working hard
for the club.
“Neither the current players nor management were responsible for the club’s relegation (from the Football League) in 2012, so it was encouraging to hear the players and management reiterate their commitment to the remaining battle ahead of us all this season."
