TERRY Jenkins rallied from 3-0 down in his PDC World Darts Championship quarter-final against Andy Hamilton but ultimately lost 5-4 in a thrilling encounter.
The Ledbury-based number six seed had no answer to an early barrage of maximums from The Hammer', who only lost three legs in winning the opening three sets at at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet.
However, Jenkins, nicknamed The Bull, stampeded his way back into the match by claiming the fifth set 3-1, the fourth set 3-2 courtesy of an 84 out-shot in the deciding leg and the sixth set 3-1.
Shell-shocked Hamilton then regained his composure, chec-king out 121 and 98 to wrap up the seventh set 3-1.
Jenkins, who staged a memorable comeback to beat James Wade 4-3 in the third round, dug deep and produced breath-taking back-to-back 11-dart finishes to help win the eighth set and force the game into a decider.
Hamilton, though, produced the better arrows in the vital set and prevailed 3-1 to book his place in today's semi-final.
Jenkins had the consolation of an £8,000 cheque - taking his seasonal tally to an impressive £65,000.
