CRAIG Wilding says his only concern today is ensuring Worcester City collect three points at Redditch United.

The City striker returns to the Valley this afternoon for the first time since moving across the county to Worcester from Redditch in the summer.

It is the second time the local rivals have gone head-to-head this season following a 1-1 draw at St George's Lane in September, in which Wilding scored City's goal.

Wilding, who netted a 12-minute first-half hat-trick against Scarborough last month, is City's top scorer with 12 goals this term.

"I am looking forward to it," he said. "I did enjoy my time at Redditch so it will be nice to go back although I am not sure what kind of reception I will get.

"I have scored six in my last seven games but we need to get three points and that's the aim.

"I am focussed on getting three points for Worcester."

The 25-year-old forward left the Reds on good terms after a season in Gary Whild's team but says Worcester's offer was too good to turn down.

"When I was there I was committed to the job but when Worcester came in for me my mind was made up.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Worcester and I am looking forward to what we might achieve."

That, no doubt, is a reference to City's quest for automatic promotion from Nationwide North or a place in the play-offs.

City's 1-1 draw at Kettering Town on Boxing Day extended the St George's Lane club's excellent run, which currently boasts just one defeat from their last 10 games.

Wilding's strike partner Mark Danks was on target at Rockingham Road, turning the ball home from a Chris Smith header with eight minutes left on the clock.

But Wilding believes City, who went behind just before half-time, were worthy of taking all three points in Northamptonshire, especially in light of their second-half performance.

He said: "We were obviously disappointed with the goal we conceded and the time we conceded it, but in the second-half we felt we did enough to win the game."

And, coupled with the Redditch derby, Wilding is expecting the return match against Kettering on New Year's Day to provide City with two stern tests in 48 hours.

He said: "The Kettering game is going to be hard and with any local derby it will be tough."

But he added: "We are on quite a good run of form."
