BROMSGROVE Rovers boss Rod Brown believes his side have "stopped the rot" following a poor run of results.

Rovers' 1-1 draw at Southern League Division One Midlands leaders Brackley Town on Boxing Day was their first point following three straight defeats.

Brown now wants his team to build on that ahead of Saturday's trip to Solihull Borough (3pm) and the visit to the Victoria Ground of Bedworth United on New Year's Day.

He said: "We had a good result against Brackley. We played really, really well and it's a long time since we played like that.

"We dominated the first-half but they are the best side we have played and they are worthy league leaders. It was a good point for us.

"I think that has stopped the rot for us. If we can continue like that, then we will have more wins than defeats.

"There was a positive feeling at Brackley and we have got to take that to the next game.

"Solihull and Bedworth are two tough games for us and you can't take any matches lightly."

Brown welcomes back Gary Hay to the team for the Solihull clash after the striker completed his three-match ban.

Wide-man Kevin Banner has received plaudits from the boss after impressing on his return following a 10-week absence through a groin injury.

Midfielder Wayne Dyer remains the only injury doubt but Brown expects the player to be fit in about two weeks' time.

Meanwhile, defender Paul Carty is facing a three-month wait for his broken leg to heal.
