STEVE Burr has left his job as Kidderminster Harriers manager today in a shock move.
The popular 53-year-old's departure is currently shrouded in mystery with Skrill Premier outfit Harriers having just released a statement, which does not say whether Burr quit or was sacked.
It read: "Kidderminster Harriers Football Club can today confirm that Steve Burr has left his post as manager at Aggborough Stadium with immediate effect.
"Everybody at the club would like to place on record its unreserved thanks to Steve for his efforts while in post.
"The board of directors would like to state explicitly again that its sole ambition for this season is to achieve promotion back to the Football League and that they are fully committed to taking whatever step necessary to reach that goal.
"No further comment will be made by the club at this stage."
Burr, who was appointed in January 2010, guided Harriers to within two points of the league title last season before they were knocked out in the play-off semi-finals by Wrexham.
He was under contract until 2016 along with assistant Gary Whild but was interviewed for the vacant Forest Green Rovers job earlier this season although he eventually decided not to go for the position.
However, despite guiding Harriers to the FA Cup third round and a 0-0 home draw with League One high-fliers Peterborough United on Saturday with the replay due next week, Burr has left the Worcestershire club.
He leaves them seventh in the league, level on points with fifth-placed Halifax Town in the play-off zone and with three games in hand.
