KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have threatened fans with indefinite bans from the club if they are found with smoke bombs.

A smoke bomb was let off in the home terrace at Aggborough during the Boxing Day clash with Hereford United, which the hosts won 2-1.

Stewards have been told to step up searches of supporters, while CCTV footage will also be monitored to identify offenders.

Harriers chairman Mark Serrell said: “This conduct is totally unacceptable and presents a serious risk to the health and safety of everyone in the vicinity of such an activated device.

“While incidents of this nature are rare at our ground, one is one too many and I am determined to eradicate this unacceptable behavior before someone is injured or taken ill.

“Anyone found to be in possession of any smoke bomb, flare, firework, etc, whether set off or not, will receive an indefinite club ban from all parts of Aggborough Stadium.”

Meanwhile, manager Steve Burr has reiterated his intention to further strengthen his squad in the transfer window.

Midfielder Jack Dyer has already arrived on a month’s loan from Burton Albion and could feature in today’s FA Cup third-round tie against Peterborough United at Aggborough (3pm).

Burr has held talks with potential targets as he seeks to lift their Skrill Premier promotion hopes after the club dropped to sixth in the table.

Meanwhile, former Kidderminster favourite Lee Hughes, 37, has joined Forest Green Rovers on an 18-month deal from Port Vale.
