GENEROUS Graeme Hick has practiced what so many professional sportsmen preach, by giving something back to grass-roots cricket in Worcestershire.
The County batting legend, who was awarded a second testimonial year last season, gave a sizeable donation from his benefit money to a youth cricket initiative.
Worcestershire icon Hick visited youngsters at Comberton First School in Kidderminster to present a cheque for £2,250, which will help develop cricket at the school.
The 40-year-old said: "Chance to Shine is a great campaign and I'm happy to support it. If children don't play cricket at school they can be lost to the game and all the benefits it brings."
The ex-England batsman held a training day for the schoolchildren as part of the national Chance to Shine scheme.
