WARRIORS director of rugby John Brain has confirmed the club will not be appointing a new head coach before the end of the season.
The position has been vacant since Anthony Eddy was sacked at the end of November but Brain has restructured the coaching set-up rather than bringing in new personnel.
Billy McGinty has taken over as attack coach while former England defensive guru Phil Larder has been working with the players on a part-time basis.
"What has happened has happened and there has been a degree of upheaval but with myself, Billy McGinty and Phil Larder, we have got what we need until the end of the season," said Brain.
Larder was originally brought in for a seven-game period but his impact has been such that many at Sixways would like to see his stay extended.
"Phil is enjoying what he is doing and the players have responded very well to what he has got to say so we will see how it goes over Christmas," said Brain.
Since Eddy's departure, Worcester have won four games on the trot. Even though they are still rooted to the bottom of the Guinness Premiership, Brain believes his side can still extricate themselves from that position.
"Bristol have got 34 points from nine matches," he said. "If Bristol can get 34 points from nine matches, I honestly think we have got the players, the coaching staff and the infrastructure here to do something similar.
"When we have lost games this year, it has only been by fine margins and we are in a better position to turn that around and perform a lot better than we have been."
Brain knows Warriors must add to their solitary win over Saracens during the Christmas and new year period when they face a run of four league games, starting with the visit of London Irish tomorrow night.
"I think we have moved on a great deal," he said. "The spirit and confidence within the Sixways camp has been transformed.
"The players are in a pretty buoyant mood. We will have everyone fit and available for this game barring Tony Windo and Gavin Quinnell.
"We have 13 games left and there is every prospect of them making this an exciting second-half of the season. We know that the four games that take place over the holiday period are crucial to us.
"If we were to lose all four, we are in a pretty poor position.
"Realistically we need to win two. If we win more than two, that will be a bonus."
Windo will miss the Irish game with a shoulder injury but Brain hopes to have him available for the visit of Quins next Wednesday.
"Basically it is a loss of sensation in his shoulder caused by impact and he is currently getting treatment for it," added Brain.
