JOHN Brain has tipped Worcester skipper Pat Sanderson to prosper under new England head coach Brian Ashton.
Ashton was named as Andy Robinson's successor yesterday and Brain believes his methods will suit Sanderson's style of play.
"Brian Ashton likes to play an expansive game," said the Sixways director of rugby.
"Pat is a skill-based back-rower so I think he would fit in well. He would be a strong contender for any one of those back-row positions. I think he is still very much in England's plans."
Injury and international call-ups mean Sanderson has played less than 40 minutes rugby for Worcester in the last two months but he is fit for the club's Christmas programme.
"I think over the next couple of months, prior to the Six Nations, he will be looking to put in some big performances," added Brain.
