WORCESTER City have a big incentive to beat Barrow in the FA Trophy tonight (Tuesday 7.45) with a home tie against Burton Albion at stake.
City make the long journey to Cumbria for the first round proper clash, postponed on Saturday because of a waterlogged pitch.
Player-manager Andy Preece is relishing the prospect of Conference high-fliers Burton visiting St George's Lane in the second round - but knows his side face a tough task at Holker Street first.
He said: "Burton at home couldn't be much better. They are one of the biggest Confer-ence clubs who are going really well at the minute.
"They are a good footballing team. If we can get through, there's a really good game to look forward to but we have got to get past Barrow first.
"They will be keen to do well and start the Christmas period with a good result against us. They will be as keen to get Burton up there as we will be to get them at the Lane."
"There's a lot at stake," he added. "We would like to go there and get the job done in one hit but a replay would not be a disaster."
Chris Smith has a better chance of making the team tonight after Saturday's postponement gave the defender a few extra days to recover from a virus.
Otherwise, Preece has some options to ponder with Sam Wedgbury joining on loan from Sheffield United and striker Adam Webster having returned to full training.
The City boss said: "It's going to be tough to pick a team and substitutes because we have got the majority of the squad available."
Barrow, beaten 1-0 by City on the opening day of the Nationwide North season, have strengthened their squad with the acquisition of winger Colin Potts from Al-trincham last week.
However, boss Phil Wilson is wary of the threat posed by Worcester. He said: "We've got a tough match against a strong side whose manager won the manager of the month award for November.
"They're a good, strong team and we will have our work cut out against them."
Elsewhere in the FA Trophy draw, Kidderminster Harriers face a trip to Exeter City should they be successful in their replay at Vauxhall Motors tonight.
Redditch United are at home to Dagenham and Redbridge.
All the Trophy ties are scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 13.
Meanwhile, Roger Ashby has resigned as manager of Nuneaton Borough.
