WORCESTER City face a mouth-watering FA Youth Cup second round trip to former Premier League outfit Sheffield United.

City’s young guns, coached by former Worcester striker Mark Owen, defeated Halesowen Town 1-0 at Studley and have progressed further in the competition than any previous side in the club’s history.

The team are affiliated to City and based out of Wor-cester College of Technology.

City first team manager Carl Heeley said: “I am really pleased for the academy side — they have worked really hard for it.

“There is a lot of good potential in that side and we have been aware of that at the club for a number of months now.

“A few of the squad members have been training with the first team.

“They should now go and enjoy their experience at Bramall Lane and there’s no reason why they can’t create a shock and they should go there full of optimism.”
