STEVE Burr returns to the Kidderminster Harriers hot-seat determined to deliver success to the supporters.

The manager is chasing the Skrill Premier title but first tackles a potential banana skin in the FA Cup first round at home to lower-ranked Sutton United tomorrow (3pm).

Despite guiding Harriers to second in the league last season, Burr is yet to work his magic in the cup, exiting the competition 2-0 to Oldham Athletic at the same stage in 2012-13.

Harriers struggled past Bradford Park Avenue 2-1 after extra-time in a replay to reach the first round this year and Sutton, fourth in Skrill South, are sure to raise their game as well.

But Aggborough is at least more stable now after a turbulent spell when Burr was away from the club while having talks over the Forest Green Rovers managerial job which he decided not to pursue. He missed last Saturday’s 1-0 league loss at Barnet.

Having only returned on Tuesday, Burr admitted: “It has been really enjoyable over the last few days working with the lads again.

“The supporters have been terrific and the messages I received from them throughout the week were fantastic. We are all connected with this club.

“Maybe it can be our year in the cup? We really want to have a run in the competition as that’s something we haven’t done yet since I’ve been here. I know how much the fans would like that.

“The game with Oldham last season was as far as I have been with Kidderminster.

“I would love to go a lot further and try to replicate the times when they played Birmingham City, West Ham and Wolves. The Bradford replay was our toughest game of the season. We weren’t at our best but still managed to get through.

“Sutton have been on a very good run with their last defeat back in August.

“Being at home gives us an advantage but we’ll have to work very hard to get through. Everyone to a man has to be spot-on.”

Left-back Mickey Demetriou serves a one-match ban for five bookings but centre-half Chey Dunkley and forward Nathan Blissett (both knee) return to the squad after injury.
