HARRIERS boss Mark Yates labelled his defence a disgrace' after the 4-4 FA Trophy draw with Vauxhall Motors at Aggborough.
Yates watched in disbelief as Kidderminster squandered a three-goal cushion against their Nationwide North opponents as well as conceding a 94th-minute equaliser.
Yates was so appalled by Saturday's debacle that he hauled his players in today to watch the match video ahead of Tuesday night's replay in Ellesmere Port.
He said: "How can you score four goals at home and not win the game? Whenever we had the ball we looked like scoring but we looked like conceding every time they were in possession anywhere near our box.
"At the back it was a disgrace and that's not what my teams are set out to do."
There was a crumb of comfort in the way Harriers scored their goals but Yates could not look beyond a woeful performance at the back.
He said: "I am very disappointed but I'm just glad we are still in with a chance of going through to the next round because defending like that normally gets you knocked out.
"That was not good enough by a million miles defensively and we'll improve.
"It was positive that we scored four and created many more but we were on the edge of our seats every time they attacked us and I don't expect that from the back four I had out there."
Yates added: "I think we tried to throw it away but fortunately we are still in it and we've got to go up there. They are a decent side and if my players got complacent at 3-0 then welcome to football.
"We showed a little bit of character to get that fourth goal but then you expect them to see it out and they've got to be a lot stronger than that.
"We have scored four goals and that's the most disappointed I've been. It puts a bit of a dampener on the start of Christmas."
Striker Iyseden Christie and midfielder Rob Davies are doubts for the replay with a knee and ankle injury respectively.
Tomorrow night's scheduled game between Harriers and Evesham in the Worcestershire Senior Cup has been postponed.
