A PLACE in the British Basketball League Cup semi-finals is at stake tonight (7.30pm) as Worcester Wolves lock horns with Leicester Riders.
The two sides meet at the John Sandford Centre for a last-eight clash just four weeks after Wolves recorded a stunning 73-61 championship victory over the Riders at the University Arena.
Since then Paul James’ side have gone on to top the table, while that defeat remains the only time Leicester have been on the wrong end of a result this season.
The game will be Wolves’ second in 24 hours, following last night’s league match against Plymouth Raiders, but the Riders have not played since beating Glasgow Rocks 81-72 last Saturday.
Director of basketball James said: “Leicester is probably the toughest place to go and play but we will match them blow for blow defensively and offensively I think we’ve got better scoring threats than they have.”
Point guard Zaire Taylor will be out to inflict another defeat on the club he left in the summer to link up with Worcester.
The American top-scored with 22 points on the first occasion and has continued to be a major force in the Wolves ranks.
