JOHN Brain believes Marcel Garvey has the opportunity to prove his worth in tomorrow evening's meeting with Albi - but admits the French outfit won't make life easy for his flying winger.
Garvey has yet to make an impact since his summer switch from Gloucester and Warriors director of rugby Brain is eager for him to stake his claim for regular selection in the European Challenge Cup tie.
But after studying footage of Albi, the Sixways boss is convinced they will try to slow Worcester ball at the breakdown while their fly-half will attempt to keep Garvey on the back foot.
"I think he has got a good opportunity but if Albi play the way they normally do, he won't see an awful lot of the ball," said Brain. "If we manage to get our game going, he may see some ball but he will have to chase some kicks."
Garvey has been on the periphery of the team during their Guinness Premiership campaign and has missed the last two cup ties because of his involvement with the England Sevens squad.
"He has been a bit frustrated recently because the sevens call-up was a bit inopportune from his point of view," said Brain.
Garvey is joined by another speedster in Uche Oduoza in France and Brain hopes the duo can make an impression.
"If we defend the way we have been defending, we can turn over ball," he said. "If we can get that ball quickly to the two wingers, in particular Marcel, he's very dangerous."
Meanwhile, Three Pears have announced they will be extending their existing sponsorship deal with Worcester for a further two years.
Based in Blackheath, the company is a wholesaler and distributor of pharmaceuticals, toiletries, household goods and fragrances.
Although specific details of the deal have not been disclosed, Three Pears confirmed the club would be receiving a six-figure sum.
