PROMISING Worcestershire duo Joe Leach and Charlie Morris have both signed contracts to remain at New Road.
Morris has agreed terms on a summer scholarship for next year with a full contract in place for the 2015 campaign, while Leach has extended his stay until the end of the 2014 season.
Despite only making six LV= County Championship appearances last season, 23-year-old Leach managed 260 runs at an average of 37.14, including a maiden First-Class century in the match at Gloucestershire in July Highly-rated seam bowler Morris, 21, featured in the club’s Yorkshire Bank 40 campaign and collected his best List ‘A’ return of 2-25 against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.
He was also awarded his Worcestershire debut in the New Road clash with the touring Australians, scoring 25 not out.
Leach said: "I am delighted to have signed a new contract and hope that it will be a successful campaign both personally and for the team.”
Morris added: "I have been offered a full contract for after I finish my studies at university. It's an honour to be a part of the club and has been a dream to play professional cricket.
“However, I am aware that the hard work begins now and I'm excited for the opportunities ahead and hopefully contributing to the future success of the club."
Director of cricket Steve Rhodes said: “Both Joe and Charlie have shown great promise in the early stages of their cricketing careers. We look forward to seeing the duo reach their full potential."
