EVESHAM United will be looking to return to winning ways when they host Mangotsfield United in Southern League Division One South and West tonight (7.45).
The Robins went down to their fifth league defeat of the season last Saturday, 2-0 at table-topping North Leigh.
United, who won 3-1 at Didcot Town in their previous match, failed to build on a strong first-half display and conceded twice after the break to allow the Millers to extend their lead at the top of the division to four points.
Shaun Cunnington’s side, who are sixth from bottom, will also be hoping to record their first league win at the Jubilee Stadium since beating Clevedon Town 3-1 on September 17.
For the majority of the opening 45 minutes against North Leigh, Evesham looked the more likely side to make the breakthrough.
Marcus Jackson three times created an opening for himself in front of goal only to fire into the arms of keeper Paul White on each occasion. Linden Dovey’s goalbound volley also struck a defender on the line before going over.
But it was a different story after the break with Keiran Sanders putting the hosts ahead four minutes into the second period before Jacob Walcott doubled his side’s advantage in the 57th minute.
