KIDDERMINSTER Harriers are looking to transfer their league form into the FA Cup as they bid to embark on a run in the competition.

Steve Burr’s side launch their quest for success in the competition with a trip to Bradford Park Avenue in the fourth qualifying round on Sunday (3pm).

Harriers are riding high in second in the Skrill Premier having won their last three matches and four out of the last six fixtures.

After reaching the first round proper last season, when they lost 2-0 to League One Oldham Athletic, the Aggborough outfit want another moment in the spotlight.

In Bradford Park Avenue, who are eighth in Skrill North, they face a side unbeaten in their last 12 games and intent on causing a shock.

But while not taking the Yorkshiremen lightly, Burr knows what is at stake for his high-flying Harriers.

“It would be great to win this tie and then go on a run in the FA Cup,” he said. “If we can get through there’s the chance we could be playing opposition from the Football League and if you look at the some of the big clubs we could meet, such as Wolverhampton Wanderers, it’s an exciting prospect.

“Last season we had a big crowd and a good day out against Oldham and we’d love to experience that again and go even further.”

“We’re favourites because we play in a higher division but we’ll be taking Bradford seriously because they are a strong team for the level they play at.”

The game was moved to Sunday on police advice as Bradford City host Wolves in League One tomorrow, while Huddersfield and Leeds United meet in the Championship. Harriers are aiming for a fourth successive victory after defeating Lincoln City 4-1 in the Skrill Premier last weekend.

Striker Nathan Blissett looks set to miss the Horsfall Stadium clash after suffering a knee injury against the Imps last Saturday.

Michael Gash replaced him and scored the opening goal but is still struggling with a hamstring problem, while striker partner Anthony Malbon has had a virus and will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

Left-back Mickey Demetriou (wrist) and centre-half Chey Dunkley (knee) are both making progress but won’t be involved at the weekend, while midfielder James Dance completes his three-match ban.

John Deacey’s Park Avenue have seen off Guiseley and Penrith to reach this stage and come into the match on the back of a 2-2 league draw at Colwyn Bay.
