TRAFALGAR took the feature race at Worcester today when the 9/2 second favourite showed a clean pair of heels to the rest of the 11-strong field in the Fred Rimell Memorial Novices Handicap Chase.

Trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies and ridden by his son Sam, the six-year-old had nearly two lengths to spare over runner-up Winds And Waves. Big Society, the 4-1 favourite, made mistakes before falling three fences from home.

Champion jockey Tony McCoy recorded his customary Pitchcroft success when guiding 5/2 favourite Christopher Wren to victory for trainer Nick Gifford in the Richard Davis Memorial Handicap Chase.
