WORCESTER City are hoping Saturday’s crowd against Lincoln City in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round at Aggborough will break the 1,000-barrier.

Excitement is beginning to build for the Blue and Whites with just three days to go before they bid to reach the first round proper for the first time since 2005.

Attendances have been healthy since the Skrill North club’s move to share at Kidderminster Harriers — they are averaging just over 600 in all competitions — but the gate could top four figures for the first time against the Imps.

On top of the Worcester support, Lincoln are expected to bring considerably more than the 205 that travelled for last weekend’s 4-1 Skrill Premier thrashing by Harriers on the same ground.

Segregation will be in place, with all four sides of the stadium being opened for the first time this season.

Lincoln fans will be housed in half of the south terrace and block 'M' of the east stand.

City vice-chairman Colin Layland said: “Lincoln City brought 205 to the league game last week but being the FA Cup they have said between 350 to 400 may travel. We are expecting over 1,000 fans.”

With gate receipts being split between the clubs, as well as £12,500 in prize money for the winners, there is plenty at stake for Saturday’s clash.
