DEAN Ryan hailed the impact of super-sub Agustin Creevy, but insists Warriors cannot rely on their Argentinian imports to get them out of trouble.

The Pumas hooker played the second-half as he made his Worcester debut and was the one shining light on a dark afternoon for the Sixways club.

Compatriot Mariano Galarza made his first start for the club and looked impressive too, despite being binned for dragging a maul down as Sale piled on the pressure in a dominant first-half.

The Sharks claimed a 29-15 Amlin Challenge Cup Pool One victory at Sixways following a dreadful opening 40 minutes from the hosts.

Ryan said: “I thought we were poor in the first-half, really slow out of the blocks and dominated at drive and collision, which is a concern for us.

“When you have that sort of scoreline to chase, it makes everything else and all the decisions more difficult.

“I’m not going to pretend the second-half cheered me up about that, because it is easy when the game has gone to behave in a way that demonstrates some emotion, but it is more difficult to do that from the beginning.

“We’re not getting that right, which is disappointing, and we compounded it with some poor decisions.

“When you’re getting beat in the scrum and in the driving line-out, then you end up playing the game in the wrong area of the field.

“Everyone has a responsibility to demonstrate a level of responsibility — it’s a collision game, but we’re not getting that right.”

The Warriors director of rugby added: “Creevy made a huge difference when he came on and that gave us some momentum, but it is unacceptable to think it’s one person who is going to generate that.

“We have a responsibility to the club’s supporters to demonstrate that this is something we really care about.

“At the moment, we are saying that we care about it, but not demonstrating that we do in the right way.

“We show it in bits — like when Creevy was the catalyst in the second-half — but we’ve got to work hard to demonstrate how much we care and how hard we’re working — there’s no point just talking about it.

“I am reluctant to be involved with a team that doesn’t want to do that — it has to be the pre-cursor for everything.

“If I can’t find individuals that want to do that, then I’ll have to find others that can demonstrate it because that is a cultural foundation stone to everything around the game — then you can build tactically.”
