HEREFORD United host Dartford tomorrow (3pm) looking to arrest a run of form that has seen them fail to win in three Skrill Premier matches.
Martin Foyle’s side have dropped to 16th in the table following back-to-back 1-0 defeats at Macclesfield and Cambridge, which followed a 0-0 draw with Luton Town at Edgar Street.
More worryingly, United have not scored in any of those matches and are currently averaging less than a goal a game.
Foyle was critical of his team following the Macclesfield loss, questioning whether some were playing to their potential.
With Dartford only two points below them, the Bulls need to return to winning ways and record their fourth victory at Edgar Street this season.
But, as against the Silkmen, Hereford look like they will have to manage without injured midfielder Kingsley James and striker Michael Rankine.
James hurt his knee in last Saturday’s defeat at Cambridge, while Rankine has been plagued by a hamstring problem.
Midfielders Frankie Artus (leg) and Josh O’Keefe (broken arm) have also been unavailable in recent matches.
However, Sam Gwynne has returned to the side for the last two games and could get another chance tomorrow.
The 25-year-old Hereford-based player has seen his opportunities limited since rejoining the club in the summer, spending much of it on the bench.
“I’m delighted to be back at the club and now back in the team,” he said. “It’s been frustrating sitting on the bench but there are 18 or 19 other lads here so you have to respect that.
“Now I have got my chance and I hope I have done all right. I would love to hold on to my place to play at Edgar Street against Dartford — I had five or six years at the club before and it just feels like home.”
