KIDDERMINSTER Harriers will look to re-establish themselves in the Skrill Premier top five tonight against Forest Green Rovers at Aggborough (7.45).

Rovers were among the pre-season title favourites but are currently languishing in 13th place following four defeats in their last five games.

Harriers are sixth, just one point behind second-placed Grimsby, but have been held to back-to-back goalless draws by Aldershot Town and Chester who are both in the relegation zone.

At Chester on Saturday, the Aggborough outfit struggled to put the hosts under pressure and manager Steve Burr has demanded better in front of their own fans, saying: “I expect a lot more from our lads.”

Midfielder Lee Fowler, who tonight goes up against the club he had three stints with, felt it was a decent point but admits Harriers can play better.

The 30-year-old, a summer signing, said: “We haven’t lost a game in five matches.

“Chester was frustrating but people need to remember a draw is a good point on the road and if you win your home fixtures that averages two points a game — that that wins you the league.

“Chester are battling for their lives and they deserved a point. But that was probably the best they can play and that’s not the best we can play.

“Forest Green were fancied by many, not in terms of their heritage and status but because of the players they have got. But money doesn’t buy success.

“It will be a good game because they like to play good football, similar to us. If we can play like we’re capable of in the final third and be a bit more clinical, then I’m hoping for a win.”

Harriers picked up several knocks at the weekend and are still without several key personnel.

Left-back Mickey Demetriou (broken wrist), centre-half Chey Dunkley (knee), midfielder Jamie Tolley (Achilles) and striker Michael Gash (toe) are all out.

Former Harriers striker Matthew Barnes-Homer is set to be among the Rovers attack.
