HEREFORD United face their toughest test of the Skrill Premier season to date tomorrow at undefeated leaders Cambridge United (3pm).

Cambridge have won eight of their first 12 games in opening up a five-point gap over Nuneaton Town at the top, while an unbeaten September saw Richard Money named manager of the month.

The Bulls, however, have taken five points from their last three matches against sides inside the top 10.

It has been a good spell for Martin Foyle’s team who followed up a 1-1 draw against Halifax and a 1-0 victory over Lincoln with a 0-0 draw against Luton at Edgar Street last Saturday.

Although 14th in the standings, the Bulls head to the Abbey Stadium buoyed by the results and looking to make it four games unbeaten.

Centre-half Luke Graham, also player-coach, said: “It has been a fantastic week from a points total point of view.

“At this stage, you never know where teams are going to finish up but Halifax have been on a good run, Lincoln had a good start to the season and Luton have done well.

“So, on paper, they were three tough games and a lot of people probably weren’t expecting us to get a lot of points. We’ll take five but it could have been more.”

Hereford’s main injury concern remains striker Michael Rankine who has missed the last two games with a hamstring problem.

Loan midfielders Michael West and Paul Green have returned to Crewe and Forest Green Rovers respectively.

Foyle is looking for replacements but any new arrivals would have to be eligible to play in the FA Cup which Hereford enter on October 26 in the fourth qualifying round.
