CAPTAIN Jonathan Thomas has urged Warriors fans to flock to Sixways and roar the side on during tomorrow’s crucial Aviva Premiership clash with Newcastle Falcons (3pm).
Worcester are still searching for their first win of the campaign after four outings and will be up against the newly-promoted Falcons, last season’s Championship winners.
According to the former Wales and Ospreys back-rower, the fans’ support could be the difference between winning and losing.
He said: “It’s a huge game for both teams and we need as many fans as possible to come to Sixways.
“Their support is crucial – it helped the side win important matches last season – and it will do the same this season.
“Fans inspire players, but we need to inspire them as well. We know it’s up to us to give fans something to cheer about and hopefully we can do that tomorrow.”
Thomas, who won 67 caps for his country, hasn’t missed a minute of action this season and has impressed since his arrival.
He added: “Newcastle have started the season very well. They’ve already got one win and have looked strong in all their matches.
“They’ve got good structures in place up there and will be a match for most teams in the league.
“But they’re on our patch tomorrow, so we need to raise the level to ensure we get the win we’re all looking for. The fans and players are in it together and we all want the same thing – we need to get our season started.”
