HEREFORD United tackle Luton Town at Edgar Street tomorrow (3pm) in search of their second home victory in four days.
Martin Foyle’s side picked up their third win of the season on home soil with a 1-0 success over Lincoln City last Tuesday, courtesy of Chris Bush’s winner five minutes from time.
Despite struggling for attendances — only 1,398 fans turned up for the Lincoln match — Hereford have only lost once at headquarters this season.
The Hatters will swell the crowd with a large travelling support and, sitting fifth in the table, should pose one of the toughest tests yet for the Bulls.
Foyle is looking for his players to replicate the sort of effort that played a part in them defeating the Imps.
He said: “I know there are areas we’ve got to work on and I can’t hide from that fact.
“But against Lincoln it was gutsy, determined and, as you could tell, the response from the supporters was great.
“We needed it as at 0-0 at half-time I didn’t know which way it was going to go.
“I couldn’t say whether it was going to be them or us — whoever raised it 10 or 15 per cent could win and it was us.”
Danny Pilkington’s three-minute cameo as a late substitute against Lincoln, his first appearance this month because of a hamstring injury, could put the winger in contention to start against the Hatters.
Midfielder Frankie Artus remains doubtful with an ankle problem and striker Michael Rankine (hamstring) is unlikely to feature for the Bulls.
Eric Odhiambo will hope to be involved after the former Turkish second level striker failed to get off the bench against Lincoln.
John Still’s in-form Luton are aiming for a fourth straight victory following triumphs against Woking (4-0), Lincoln (3-2) and Dartford (3-0).
