WORCESTER City are determined to use their 4-0 victory over Workington as a catalyst for more success in Skrill North.

Carl Heeley’s team are brimming with confidence after putting the Cumbrians to the sword at Aggborough for their first win of the season.

Alongside draws against Gainsborough Trinity and Colwyn Bay, they are now three games unbeaten and travel to Telford tonight (7.45) bidding to extend that sequence.

While Telford, relegated from the Conference Premier last season, are seventh in the table following a 4-1 thrashing of Colwyn Bay at the weekend, Heeley believes his players are up for the challenge.

“You feel better in yourself when you’ve won a game. Let’s move on and see how we can build on it,” he said.

“I wasn’t in the slightest bit worried at not having won because when you’re performing well, the results will inevitably come.

“Getting a late goal, like we did the other evening against Gainsborough, can be used as a springboard. We started the game against Workington on the front foot and once we got the first goal it looked like there was only ever going to be one winner and it could have been many, many more goals.”

Heeley could name the same 11 that demolished Workington, with striker Ethan Moore and centre-half Exodus Geohaghon aiming to get on the scoresheet for the third game running, while Phil Trainer faces the team that released him and fellow midfielder Nathan Rooney in the summer.

Graham Hutchison looks set to continue at right-back with George Williams still nursing an ankle injury, while defensive midfielder Richard Taundry (groin) remains a doubt.

Although Richard Munday was fit enough for the bench at the weekend following a hamstring issue, Shabir Khan and Geohaghon are poised to continue their partnership in defence.

Khan added: “It is a nice little boost but we don’t want to get carried away with this win, we’ve got a game tonight and we want to concentrate on that now.

“We do want to start winning a lot more games, we don’t want to have this and then fall back at Telford. We’ve got to keep our heads and look to the next game.

“We got the draw against Brackley and could have nicked a goal there. I’m sure it will be a competitive match again against Telford.”

Midfielder Ebby Nelson-Addy has recovered from the groin problem that has kept him out for the last four games.
