WORCESTER City are on the lookout for at least one winger following the shock departure of Luke Hubbins.

The 21-year-old, who joined from Telford during the summer, quit the club last week to take a break from the game and even waived a week’s wages.

It has left manager Carl Heeley short on options out wide with full-backs Josh Smith and Ellis Deeney pushed further forward in Tuesday’s 2-2-draw against Gainsborough Trinity.

Aaron Williams and Danny Williams have been tried on the flanks but Heeley wants a natural winger to balance his team.

It is unlikely anyone will have arrived in time for tomorrow’s Skrill North match against Workington at Aggborough (3pm) but the Worcester boss admits it is high on the priority list.

He said: “I think we need to look at the wide areas after losing Luke, we’re having to force players out wide which is not natural to them.

“We’re going to have to assess that situation because we do need a threat down the flanks but we haven’t got that at the moment.”

Meanwhile, Worcester’s FA Cup match against Coventry Sphinx will take place at Aggborough on Saturday, September 28 (3pm).
