HEREFORD United visit Halifax Town tomorrow (3pm) looking for a first win in four matches to drag them out of their recent slump.

Tuesday’s 2-1 loss at Nuneaton was the first time the Bulls have lost three games in a row since Martin Foyle took over as manager in the summer of 2012.

Having lost just one of their first six Skrill Premier fixtures, United are now languishing in 16th place.

Foyle has insisted he is not about to push the panic button, particularly given the positive signs earlier in the campaign, but the situation is certainly a cause for concern.

He admitted: “I can’t look at the good stuff at the moment, I’ve got to look at the negative stuff because we want points.”

The Bulls’ cause has not been helped by an injury list that still includes midfielders Danny Pilkington (hamstring) and Josh O’Keefe (broken arm).

Striker Michael Rankine has missed the last two games with a hamstring problem and is unlikely to be fit for the trip to The Shay.

Midfielder Frankie Artus picked up a knock against Nuneaton and is doubtful but Kingsley James replaced him at Liberty Way on his return from a hamstring complaint.

Hereford are up against a Halifax side who have won all five of their home fixtures this term since winning promotion via the Conference North play-offs.

Neil Aspin’s men, who are sixth in the table, have kept clean sheets in three of their last four games at headquarters — against Grimsby, Southport and Dartford.

Although the reformed Halifax have only been in existence since 2008, one of Hereford’s most memorable matches came against the club’s previous incarnation in the Conference play-off final of 2006 when the Bulls won promotion to the Football League.
