KIDDERMINSTER Harriers could be without both their first-choice central defenders for tomorrow’s Skrill Premier trip to Dartford (3pm).

Josh Gowling and Chey Dunkley are both nursing knee injuries and will need to be assessed closer to kick-off in Kent.

Gowling missed Tuesday’s 3-0 victory at Tamworth and Dunkley has been struggling in the days since Harriers won for the third game running.

Jamie Grimes came in against the Lambs and could continue at the back but manager Steve Burr is hoping Gowling will be fit to prevent a further defensive reshuffle.

He said: “It’s going to be one where we will have to assess it nearer to kick-off time.

“We have got a problem with Josh but, with him not playing the other night, the injury has settled down. We are hoping he will be back in the squad.

“Chey has a knee injury and of the two, he might be the one who could be missing. Jamie did a good job for us on Tuesday and settled into the team very well.”

Harriers could also be without captain Kyle Storer after the midfielder went off with a groin problem 11 minutes from the end against Tamworth.

Jack Byrne, who has been hampered by an Achilles problem of late, replaced Storer and could get the nod at Dartford.

Harriers rose to third in the table, five points behind early leaders Nuneaton, while fourth-from-bottom Dartford have not won for four games.

Following the Tamworth triumph, Burr believes his team are playing well enough to record a fourth win on the spin.

He added: “It was much better and more like how I would expect us to play. We passed it well and the chances created were very good.

“I was very pleased because that’s how I know we can play, we looked full of goals.”
