KIDDERMINSTER Harriers could be without defender Josh Gowling for tomorrow’s Skrill Premier visit of Hyde (3pm).
The centre-half, who has been troubled by a knee problem, is continuing to struggle despite playing every game for the Aggborough club this season.
Alongside England ‘C’ international Chey Dunkley, Gowling is an integral part of Harriers’ back-line and Kidderminster are monitoring the 29-year-old’s fitness.
Former Swansea youngster Jamie Grimes is a potential replacement in the centre of defence after waiting patiently on the sidelines but he sustained a thigh injury in training.
“They could be doubtful for tomorrow and we’ll have to look at that,” said Harriers manager Steve Burr.
There is better news in midfield with Jack Byrne and Callum Gittings on the road to recovery following Achilles and ankle injuries respectively.
Byrne has returned to training having not featured since the end of August after aggravating his Achilles, a problem which kept him out for most of last season, while Gittings missed last weekend’s 2-1 win at Welling.
Burr added: “Jack’s trained this week, which is good for us, and Callum is hoping to get back into training before tomorrow though it might just be a little early for him.”
Winger James Dance hopes to retain his place after scoring twice on his full debut in last weekend’s 2-1 win at Welling.
Harriers, who had lost the previous two games, will want to build on the success against a second-from-bottom Hyde side still searching for their first league victory this season.
