HOT-SHOT Worcester striker Jamie Insall is hoping four hat-tricks in as many games will help launch his football career.
The 21-year-old, from Ronkswood, has bagged a treble in each of his last four fixtures in firing Worcestershire club Littleton to the top of the Midland Combination Premier Division.
Insall’s remarkable achievement, which came against Southam United, Castle Vale, Blackwood and Alvis Sporting, has taken his tally to 15 in nine matches, along with 20 in pre-season, since joining from Division One Archdales ‘73.
The former Kidderminster Harriers junior is in equally prolific form for WCT Raiders in the Worcester and District League Sunday Premier, having also netted a hat-trick against New Inn at the weekend.
On top of 67 goals for the Raiders last term, where he is captain, Insall is quickly turning into one of Worcestershire’s hottest properties.
He is now looking to follow in the footsteps of Littleton strikers Matt Smith and Joe Lolley, who have gone on to play for Leeds United and Kidderminster respectively.
Insall said: “Joe went to Kidderminster after scoring 28 goals. I am on 15 and it’s only nine games into the season. I have already got more than half what he got.
“As a youngster at 16 I was at Kidderminster Harriers and I got released and went to play for Stourport. From there I went to Redditch United and then I just played locally at Pershore.
“I think I could play in a higher standard but it’s about enjoying my football.”
Just 12 months ago Insall was handed a suspended jail sentence and 250 hours of unpaid community work for fracturing an opponent’s jaw while playing for Pershore Town.
He added: “Now all that has finished, I am trying to build myself a career and hopefully go higher. It’s not about the money, it’s about enjoying it and seeing where I go from there.”
Littleton boss Andy Robbins said: “I have known of him for ages and called him to ask if he wanted to come to Littleton and he said he would love to. He came over and the rest is history.
“Having seen Matt and Joe leave, I was wondering where we were going to get another striker from and then Jamie popped up. I have not seen anything like what he’s achieved in that time.”
Ryan Probert, Insall’s manager at WCT Raiders, added: “He’s not great in the air because he’s a tiny thing but he’s very fast and his finishing is second to none. I haven’t seen a striker like Jamie for a long time.
“He would easily be good enough to be with the Worcester City set-up but for some reason they don’t seem to be interested in local talent which is disappointing.”
