KAI Williams will not be returning to Worcester Wolves despite being offered a new contract by the British Basketball League club.
The 25-year-old small forward, whose brother Jamal joined the Wolves this summer, has not been in touch with director of basketball Paul James since the end of last season.
Following the arrival of several new players in recent weeks, including Will Creekmore, Ian Salter, Stefan Djukic and Zaire Taylor, Williams, who has a British passport, has missed out.
“Pre-season has started and he’s not here so he won’t be back,” James said.
“We made him an offer to return but I want people who want to be here.
“He had a fairly decent season with us and could have gone on and done better things but he clearly felt there were other opportunities out there for him to seek.”
Meanwhile, BBL team Surrey Heat will now be known as Surrey United following a change of ownership.
