ONLY local pride will be at stake when Worcestershire travel to Warwickshire in a Yorkshire Bank 40 dead rubber tonight (4.40pm).
Steve Rhodes’ men will go into the Group ‘A’ derby clash pumped full of confidence having beaten table-topping Nottinghamshire by 38 runs last time out.
However, it has been a campaign to forget for both of the M5 rivals with Worcestershire’s four wins from 10 outings leaving them unable to qualify for the knock-out stages. Yet things have been much worse for the Edgbaston outfit, though, as they have managed only two victories in the competition and are propping up the division.
Worcestershire batsman Moeen Ali warmed up for the YB40 contest with his former club by making 61 for England Lions on day one of their two-day match against the touring Australians at the County Ground, Northampton.
