MICHAEL Gash has targeted another bumper season in the goal-scoring charts as he bids to fire Kidderminster Harriers to success.
The 26-year-old is embarking on his first full season at Aggborough, having initially joined on loan from Cambridge United last term.
Along with fellow striker Anthony Malbon, he will be expected to provide the bulk of the goals for Steve Burr’s promotion-chasing team.
Gash has already got off the mark by netting in last Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Gateshead but saw chances go begging in the 3-1 reverse at Alfreton Town on Tues-day.
Today, Harriers head to Braintree (3pm) in their Skrill Premier contest and Gash, who netted once during a brief loan spell at Cressing Road last season, is aiming to get back on the goal trail.
“I think I should be aiming for the 20 figure in all competitions,” he said.
“Last year I scored 21 and if I do that again I will be very happy.”
Speaking about the Alfreton defeat, Gash added: “I had a good chance that I should have scored and Anthony Malbon and Marvin Johnson also had good opportunities.
“It was disappointing bec-ause we could have gone into half-time 3-1 up but we didn’t. There’s no reason to panic and it’s not really hard to know why we lost – we didn’t take our chances.”
Harriers’ home match aga-inst Aldershot on Friday, September 27 (7.45pm), will be televised on BT Sport.
The fixture has been moved from the Saturday.
